If you want to play Vorbis audio with version 1.3 of the Connected Server, you need to add a new codec Id to the ffdshow audio section in the config.
Please add:
<codecId>0xcddca2d5</codecId>
just before
<driver>dshow</driver>
<guid>0x0F40E1E5, 0x4F79, 0x4988, 0xB1, 0xA9, 0xCC, 0x98, 0x79, 0x4E, 0x6B, 0x55</guid>
Updated the new config file accordingly!

*.ogg Files not showing.
Hi Kamiwa,
Do I understand correctly that this codec ID is needed for OGG playback? I'm having real problems getting OGG files to show up when I scan (using the latest Server v1.3). I've used your latest all-in-one and config files (and tried some of the older config's including the ogg specific stuff you covered) and I do have the line 0xcddca2d5 in the file but they just won't show up.
The odd thing I've found is that the OGG music files do show in my video tab on the server (if I add them there) although I can't play them from there. But they just won't show if added to my music tab (MP3's and WMA's show fine).
Any thoughs on why an OGG would be recognised as video but not audio? Are you currently able to see OGG files yourself using the latest 1.3 server?
Sorry for the big post - really appreciate any insight.

Olyws
OGG
Hi Olyws,
The codec id is for vorbis audio. I'm not sure about OGG. Can you upload a short sample somewhere, so that I could test? Got no OGGs here.
BTW: What video type are you using in your OGGs. Just looked at wikipedia and saw that OGG, like MKV, is a container format. As splitter for OGG (Haali) and audio codec are inclded in the config, I'm sure we're missing a video codec.
EDIT: Forget about my video question! Sometimes it's better to read a post to it's end, before replying to it. :-) So It's *.ogg audio that shows up as video. That's weired indeed. Afraid I can only forward this to my DivX contact. Still I'd love to so some testing, so if you got a file for me, you can simply send it by mail. My email address is the obvious one. :-) just put kamiwa in front of the domain name.
OGG
Hi Kamiwa,
Thanks a lot for the response. I didn't realise that OGG was more a container than a format - that's interesting. To be honest I only have about 100 files in the OGG format which I should be able to easily convert so I don't want to waste your time figuring this out when I can easily do that :)
You are correct, I don't have any vids that include OGG, what I meant was that the OGG audio files will show up if I add them under videos (as if it were a video even though it's just an audio file)!!
In any case not to worry - I think I will go down the converting route :)

Olywa
BTW - Congrats on a great blog and the really good work you do here, I have been following your stuff since getting my box back in February and it's proved very usefull so thanks again.
Thanks ..

Basically, I did a clean install (did not keep previous settings). Then I installed your all-in-one and used the 2 reg files. For the FFDshow however, I downloaded the latest build in the link above. After that I turned off the h.264 option on FFDshow (wanted DivX to handle it). From there I edited the config file like you recommended in this post.
After rebooting, I now have every single file working on my computer. I now have my x.264 MKV files with Vorbis audio playing back like a dream on Connected. (I could never get them to show up before).
Thanks for all your work!
Awesome!
Nice to hear you've got it working!
