New All-In-One pack for Connected Server 1.4 released
I updated the All-In-One pack to work with DivX Connected Server Build 1.4.
- Included support for several new audio codecs
- Updated ffdshow and Haali splitter to latest versions
- Fixed the ffdshow video registry file. The last version resized the videos by default.
This time the pack comes in two flavours.
FOR DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL THE PACK PLEASE SEE:
Playback more than just DivX - Revised Edition
Standard Edition (uses ffdshow for MKV/AVC playback)
WinZip file
WinRar file
For dare devils and danger seekers:
The Rémoulade Edition (uses DivX Rémoulade for MKV/AVC playback)
WinZip file
WinRar file
Known issue with Rémoulade edition: Jumping to virtual chapter points in 1088i files doesn't seem to work here.
Should you notice any other problems, please be so kind and report them to DigitAl56K.

I just test this new config its working good !i had test both version ( With h264 from Divx and from AVC) each working.I can play MKV with subtitle !! but without SubtitleI had try a lot of different files all worked, except MKV with multi language.I ve got some video freeze under some videos, i dont know why, perhaps they was a little buggy but they freeze only on divx connected box, not under computer.I dont know if DSM 3330 decode itself video but if it do that perhaps the decode chip dont like these video =), i dont know if its possible to play all files in streaming mode.Sorry for my english.PtK
Kamiwa-quick question. I've got almost everythign running on the hack, but I also have a lot of .mp4 files that are avc1 h.264 AVC with MPEG-4 AAC audio with some issues. They are large...usually 3.5 GB. When it plays back on connected, the video looks great, and the audio sounds great, but it is terribly out of sync. Is this just a problem with the computer not being fast enough? Its consistently a 1-3 second sync issue, tested across 3 different computers. I noticed however, that using Rémoulade improved it slightly. I should note that there is no sync issue when played back on the PC.Is this just a limitation with the hack and my computer? If so I understand, but the allure of having these HD files play back in sync is too great to not ask you and be sure :) I figure if the video is playing back smoothly and the audio is playing back smoothly, and its just an A/V sync issue, then there MIGHT be something that can be done. Thanks for all your work!
Difficult to do a remote diagnosis. What CPU are you using?
Don't forget, when streaming to the Connected Box, any video other than DivX gets transcoded to DivX on the fly. That means the video first gets decompressed and then recompressed again. This requires a different "horsepower" than just playing it back on the PC where it "only" needs to be decoded.
So if you're PCs are still Pentium 4 for example and your video is HiDef then I'd say that lack of "horsepower" is most likely the case for this behaviour. With a Core 2 Duo on the other hand and 2 GBs RAM you should definitely be doing okay.
In this case, it is a core 2 duo. No wifi, all cat5 cables. A fairly decent. Also tried on a AMD duel 2.4 GHz
I downloaded your all-in-one but I don't know how to install it. What configuration should I use in ffdshow?

I downloaded yesterday the pack for 1.2 and it is working fine, I just noticed that there is a new pack for the 1.4 server which I am using...1. should I install that one... do I need uninstall everything else or just install everything in the pack?2. when playing the .mkv files I can not use the fast forward or backward on player, is there a fix for that and if not do you think that it will be fixed in the future? thanksjoe
Old IT rule says: Never touch a running system!
you did not make a comment regarding the fast forward and backward ability...is that possible?should it be possible if I install the new all in one?
... is currently not possible with Connected for any file that needs the DirectShow plugin. You'll have to use virtual chapter points (0...9 on the remote) instead. So definetly no need to update!
Thanks for the quick reply that works great... one last question I have an mkv file that says it has two language. how do I change the audio language? thanks again
Sorry to disappoint you! But multi audio tracks with DS plugin aren't supported (yet).
Any possibility to get 5.1 surround in mkv files working and have a little more volume?
As soon as I change the ffdshow filters audio is gone. I'd like to have some surround ;-)
is it possible to view .mkv files with subtitles through connected... and if so would you be kind enough to explain or to point me to an explanation thanks for your help
Hi There! I have tried version 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and new firmware. I downloaded the all in one pack, nothing works, I am clearly missing what I need to do. To resolve a problem with Fallout 3, I installed the latest k-lite std package and since then, navigating the interface of the DSM330 is very jerky and slow. Actual playback seems fine, but some formats ( I am not sure which ones, won't play). I would appreciate any help if someone could contact me on net.workn@gmail.com, or point me to proper forums where others might be experiencing similar issues and I can get some assistance.
Hello,First off, I wanted to thank you for all the work, information and inspiration you've been bringing to the DivX Connected Community! I have cancelled my televsion subscription and now have these devices connected to every TV in the house. My question is this - If DivX is moving to encode into the MKV container rather then AVI, does this mean that we should see native MKV support for DivX Connected in the near future? Thanks, Matthew
Did you follow the setup instructions from this post?

I just had a chat with Dan from DivX and passed on your question. Here's what he had to say!
kamiwa:With the upcoming DivX 7 pack, will DivX natively support the MKV container on the Connected Box? A short statement from the DivX Connected PM might look quite good on my blog! :-)
Dan: The simplest answer to his question is yes. :-)
We will support MKV (h.264/AAC) with Connected soon after DivX7 launches. The server would transcode to DivX ASP if the device cannot play DivX Plus
kamiwa: But will this include all the features of the MKV container as well? I mean things like trick play, subtitles, multi audio, chapters ?
Dan: If you mean DivX features, then yes! :-)
Connected will inherit all of the DivX 7 MKV features soon after they are enabled in the DivX player.
kamiwa: What about DD 5.1 decode?
Dan: Yes, soon after they are supported in the DivX Player. Not in the first release though
kamiwa: That's probably never then :-) So what do you think? Early next year?
Dan: I hate to give time frames, since sooo many things can happen to throw it off.
The Lovebug alpha will be available soon, but it will not have DivX7. So it most likely will be a part of the Lovebug beta and the product release.
Hi There!Yes I am pretty sure I did. One thing I wasn't sure about was whether it was plug and play or if it required me to edit the files after getting the codec ID's? I wasn't sure if the all in one kit was already preconfigured.
Wow - thanks for querying DivX directly! The information you gathered is really exciting, and just points out how useful the DivX Connected box really is! Thanks, Matthew
Do you have the above version to download. I have version 1.3 and not got the all in one package to work with it. I thought i might try with 1.2 Tonyhughes
I have followed the instructions and can play MKV files and other additional types listed. However when I play MKV files on my TV the volume is already very low. I have tried boosting the volume with the ffdshow mixer and while this boosts volume on PC playback it does not have a significant impact on TV playback. I didnt encode any of the MKV files, but nor did I encode many of the AVI files I play and they are fine. the fact that ALL mkv files, regardless of source playback with low volume, points to some systematic issue. Any ideas of things to explore?
Hi there
Please help us seeing the subtitles on mkv video files in DSM-330...
Thanks!
Hi there,
Why does DivX Connected crashes when Playing a PAL DVD/MKV/ or DVDRIP????
First I tried to play VOB files (PAL DVD), it crashed. I thought it has to do something with VOBs.
Then I converted VOB to MKV, using the tools. It plays fine on computer. But when I play on the TV, there is a Black screen .. Audio is fine but Video is black. And after few seconds the DivX Connected Server crashes.
Finally I had to use "ProCODER 3" to convert it to NTSC 29.97 FRAMES per second and then "HANDBRAKE" TO convert it to MKV H264 format.
Finally it played fine.
Just wondering why does it crash on PAL Source (DVD / DVDRIPs)?
My System is QUADCORE Q6600, with nothing else installed.. just DivX connected ALL IN ONE PACK and DivX codecs on WINDOWS XP.
I tried both XP and VISTA. Same Issue. It crashes on PAL.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Kamiwa,
You my friend RULE.
I downloaded and installed the dare devil package and it improved my playback performance.
However one con, videos which were 5.1 were already working in full surround on my theater, however after I have downloaded and installed yout all in one pack and used the automatic registry configuration files. 5.1 stopped working, videos work in 2 channels mode only now.
Can you please help?
I have server 1.4, divx 6.8.5.
Cheers.
I am having the same problem - I get no sound on DTS files for about 10 seconds and then when I do the volume is VERY low - anyone figure out a solution?
